"While those "puzzle" mats are cute, everyone told me they collect tons of dust underneath. I wanted something extra thick to protect baby's head when he took tumbles (or dropped his head when he was a newborn). I wanted something extra big so he could crawl around when he was older. Husband wanted something easy to roll up and clean under. The countrytown pattern is pretty cute too. it was pricey, but well worth the investment. My son has taken some serious tumbles including falling backward from a stand and has never gotten a head injury!"

"There didn't seem to be a lot of options when it comes to extra wide baby gates, but i did a fair amount of research on what i could find. One of my favorite things about this gate is that you can adjust the panels to angle in or out. We used this as a free standing fence in a corner of our living room. Even without affixing it to the walls it is sturdy enough that my 20+# 10 mo is able to pull up to a stand on the bars without knocking it over. My favorite part is that the door is very easy to open, and ive gotten stuck behind a baby gate or two in my adult life. My husband loves how easy it is to take down when we run the roomba. "
