Parents love that this seat can fit tiny 5lb infants as a rear-facing as well as much bigger kids (up to 120lbs!) as a booster. With a full steel alloy frame and aluminum reinforced side walls, this seat provides unparalleled safety. It also folds flat for travel, is FAA certified, and thanks to its narrow frame, you’ll be able to fit three across in most mid-sized vehicles, which makes this super popular amongst families with multiples.

The Catch: It’s pretty heavy, so even though it folds flat for easy transport, it’s a bear to lug around.

  • I got the 2017 Essex version and I love the fabrics and the feel of the harness straps and how they snap. The manual is hard to follow though and the install is terrible Fits 3 seats across most cars! Dec 13, 2018

    I have two of these. I love how the straps never get twisted and my daughter can snap them shut herself. The one I ordered in 2017 did smell strongly of adhesive which was pretty gross. May 10, 2017

  • The second row seating in our truck is a little narrow with less leg room than I would like, so the Radian is perfect for our preschooler. Fairly easy to install. Very heavy but we don't remove it. Apr 26, 2016

  • Easily one of the best seats on the market. Use Rear-facing from 5-45#s and Forward 5-pt to 80#s and booster to 120#s. Slim profile makes it easy to fit three across, and folds flat for travel! Oct 06, 2014

  • No. This is a convertible seat and those are not designed for stroller compatibility. Only infant carriers are designed for portability and stroller compatibility.

  • As people said this is a convertible car seat for after the infant one but I highly highly recommend it! I have two and absolutely love them! I have tried others and haven't liked them as much and my friends all wish they got dionos!

  • No, but if you're taking it to the airport, you can get a rolling luggage cart and strap the car seat to that. You can even let your kid ride on it through the airport. (so say my sources, I haven't tried.)
