The Radian RXT is a highly versatile car seat that could be the only seat you’ll ever need. It comfortably seats rear-facing children from 5-45 pounds, forward-facing children from 20-80 pounds in 5-point harness, then converts to a booster for children up to 120 pounds. It’s built for strength and safety with a steel alloy frame, reinforced sidewalls, adjustable head support and our patented SafeStop energy absorbing harness. EPS foam surrounds the child's head and body to provide complete side impact protection. Our unique Superlatch system makes installation easy. The Radian RXT is NCAP crash tested, the industry benchmark for verifying child seat performance in severe accident conditions, and the only car seat rated for latch use with a child up to 80 pounds. The Radian RXT sits low on a vehicle seat for easy child boarding, features memory foam padding and infant support pillows. Expandable sides and a longer seat bottom provide extra room and comfort for your growing child. One cup holder is included, with the option to add up to 4 cup holders. In addition to all this versatility, it folds flat for travel and storage, has a 10 year life and offers amazing safety, comfort and convenience your child won’t outgrow.
what parents are saying
Allowed me to get three seats in the back of my car.Looked new after years of use. Unfortunately, mine expired and I need to purchase another one for my baby. Check manufacturing date before you buy! (Aug 18, 2016)
Parents love that this seat can fit tiny 5lb infants as a rear-facing as well as much bigger kids (up to 120lbs!) as a booster. With a full steel alloy frame and aluminum reinforced side walls, this seat provides unparalleled safety. It also folds flat for travel, is FAA certified, and thanks to its narrow frame, you’ll be able to fit three across in most mid-sized vehicles, which makes this super popular amongst families with multiples.
The Catch: It’s pretty heavy, so even though it folds flat for easy transport, it’s a bear to lug around.

Love the small footprint of this car seat - we actually got 2 and are considering a 3rd when the time is right, so we can fit 3 kids in the backseat (and not be forced into another minivan)

I got the 2017 Essex version and I love the fabrics and the feel of the harness straps and how they snap. The manual is hard to follow though and the install is terrible Fits 3 seats across most cars!

We've been using this for my daughter for the past 4 years. She loves it; she can easily buckle herself in, and we know that it's incredibly safe. We will definitely buy another Diono for baby 2!

I think this is really the best convertible car seat out there! gets excellent safety ratings, can REALLY fit 3 across in most cars, and is FAA approved. downside is really just that it is heavy!

Can't say I fully love or hate it. Nice for small spaces. Harness hard to adjust. Hard to instal in a lot of vehicles especially rear facing. Fabric seems like it would be easy clean but shows stains

Love the radian car seat! It is by far the sturdiest car seat we've had. It is very heavy but it's because it's more metal than plastic. It's also very narrow-great for 3 kids in a row in car seats.

I with there was a higher level than love for this! Only car seat I will ever buy again! We have 3 and they fit next to each other across on row in my car. Extended rear facing was my biggest plus!

Great car seat, very narrow profile to fit several in car/airplane, etc. Con is weight - very heavy, even with travel backpack bag. Definitely like this one over R100 due to extra head bit for sleep

AWESOME! I love the design and the easy to clean material. The best part is that it's slim so people sitting in the back seat can still easily access their seatbelts. Will get lots of use out of it!

The second row seating in our truck is a little narrow with less leg room than I would like, so the Radian is perfect for our preschooler. Fairly easy to install. Very heavy but we don't remove it.

I absolutely love this seat! I wish I would've purchased this seat three car seats ago! My 38lb 41 inch preschooler can still rearface and my 8 month old is super comfortable in it as well.

Using this seat with my 2 year old since he was only 5 months old. Takes up lots of space front to back rear facing but is great side-to-side in smaller cars. Easy for kid to get in and out on his own

Love this car seat. 3 other mom friends have bought this because I recommended it! It grows with the child so I'm so glad I won't have to buy another car seat when he eventually switches to a booster!

mostly love that this has such a long life! it's pretty heavy, but i don't plan on traveling with it, though it's pretty awesome that it folds up to travel. so for the car i think heavy = safe

Easily one of the best seats on the market. Use Rear-facing from 5-45#s and Forward 5-pt to 80#s and booster to 120#s. Slim profile makes it easy to fit three across, and folds flat for travel!

So far so good. The little dude is very comfortable in it. So heavy it makes me want to cry sometimes, but I guess that comes with the territory. We have a nice travel case, which helps a little.

This made air travel easier; it folds up, has a carry strap & is slim enough for the plane. -Jenn K.
The seat is heavy but my tall baby was comfortable in it rear facing up to 2. -Chelsea D.

As people said this is a convertible car seat for after the infant one but I highly highly recommend it! I have two and absolutely love them! I have tried others and haven't liked them as much and my friends all wish they got dionos!
No, but if you're taking it to the airport, you can get a rolling luggage cart and strap the car seat to that. You can even let your kid ride on it through the airport. (so say my sources, I haven't tried.)
