This soft, ergobaby Infant Insert cushion works with any ergobaby carrier and must be inserted to support growing babies ranging from newborns to 4-5 months. The proprietary design of the ergobaby Infant Insert is comprised of a cushioned exterior with a removable pillow to keep pressure off a baby's developing sacrum. The Infant Insert also provides the necessary head and neck support for comfortable carrying from day 1. The Infant Insert snaps around the baby, can be adjusted as needed and placed with ease inside any ergobaby carrier. Cozy and protected, your baby will be perfectly cradled with cotton next to the skin. The cushioned shell combined with the removable pillow can be used together for newborns to ensure they are seated correctly and have the head and neck support provided by cushioned outside layer (for babies from newborn to 4-5 months, and from 7 to 12 pounds). Larger newborns that still need the head and neck support can use the Infant Insert outer shell layer, without the pillow (for babies that are under 4 months, but over 12 pounds). Smaller infants that have strong head and neck control but lack the height for correct positioning in the ergobaby carrier can use the pillow without the outer layer. CPSIA compliant. Inserts into all styles of the ergobaby carrier. Provides ergonomic support for growing baby bodies. Machine wash cold with mild detergent on gentle cycle. Dry on delicate cycle and remove when seams are still damp. Air dry. Made from 100% cotton fabric and certified by Global Textiles Standard (GOTS) certification and compliance with Fiber Processing Standards. Certified dyes (Oeko-Tex Standard). Fabric mill and fabric and dyes are Oko-Tex certified.
what parents are saying
This was nice to have when my son was a newborn but was it 100% necessary?... No. I liked it because it kept him snuggled but it was super thick and was really hot. I only used it for maybe a month. (Jul 17, 2015)
A comfy baby carrier (for you and the little one) is the key to getting things done... with two hands (imagine that!). weeSpring parents have lots of love for the Ergobaby Carrier.
It's ergonomically-designed (get it? Ergo!) to distribute baby's weight evenly and shift the heavy lifting from your shoulders to your hips. Dozens of weeSpring moms have said it was the only carrier they could really get comfortable in. So you can stroll (and stroll) while he dozes or takes in the sights. Their newborn insert means you can use it from day one. And its versatility to a side or back carrier means you can use it to lug a 35 pound toddler around town.
You and your tot are already attached at the hip, why not make it Ergo official?
P.S. Ergo makes a great baby gift; it's one of the most popular picks in the "My Registry" weeList.
If you have an ergo and want to wear your newborn this is a must! I wish this wasn’t an additional accessory and came with the carrier. Easy to use, but baby sizes out of it quickly for the price.

I used this with a soft structured carrier that was not Ergo. It worked just fine. Loved that you can take out the "seat" in the bottom to use alone after baby is proper weight, but not height.

Made baby very hot. Was nice concept but no way to keep baby from overheating in summer. Did allow me to unbuckle ergo and lay baby down without waking her up. Easy to use as you can put baby in first

Used this when my first two babies were small but with baby #3, I tried the moby. While she was small I loved Moby, but as she gets bigger back to my ergo. Insert not needed now that's she big enough

I love being able to wear baby early on, however baby gets very warm so I only dress her in onesies when using this. It also increases the time to put on the Ergo so I prefer this for longer outings.

We didn't use this as often as I had hoped. Mainly because baby got so so hot when we had it on. I ended up using a different carrier until he was able to ride in the ergo without the insert.

Mine came in ERGObaby Bundle of Joy. You can put them in it and then stick them in the carrier. Much easier to manipulate the carrier when they aren't moving all around when they are little.

Not very useful. Made baby super hot and I don't even live in a hot climate. A rolled up towel works much better. I prefer to use a wrap when baby is small enough to need this and transition to ergo.
