what parents are saying
This was our lifesaver! That first night is rough and probably everyone will be crying, but progressive waiting and consistency worked for our one year old, very attached breastfeeder! (Jul 17, 2017)

We used this book for sleep training. It saved us all. I recommend it to anyone who is so tired they can't stand it anymore that has a baby that is of age to be sleep trained. Really, really helped. Jan 04, 2019

This might be the most misunderstood sleep training method. Ferber does NOT advise leaving you child to cry for long periods. This is a gentle method that worked well for us. Useful & informative book Oct 08, 2016

Seriously. Solved our kid's bad sleep habits. Takes some work, but I swear by his methods. Sep 30, 2014
We used this at first for naps then nights. It was definitely hard to follow at first but Ferber is my life saver. I'm not looking forward to sleepless nights again once #2 arrives. Feb 03, 2014
good explanation about how children sleep. Was wary of this but it was not the "cry it out" horror I expected. He recommends that only as a last resort. helpful charts to understand sleep patterns Aug 03, 2013
We sleep trained at the behest of our pediatrician. We read 5 or 6 of the sleep books, and this was the one that worked best for us. The case studies Dr. Ferber detailed were similar to our own. Jun 14, 2013

Ferber speaks of much gentler ways than people usually suspect. We haven’t tried the method yet as I’m still reading but it all makes so much sense and he is so clear in his steps. May 14, 2018
