We have this at the top of our stairs, it's sturdy and I love the motion actived light lights the hallway/staircase. Easy to open. Door swings wide both ways and you have option to lock it so that it swings just one way or lockes completely. Truely a nice looking gate but on pricey side. You do have to step over a small bar on bottom of gate. Light lasted 8 months before we needed to replace the 2 AA batteries. (Aug 12, 2017)
