This was great as a transition between our son's infant bathtub for the sink, and then first introducing him to the tub. (Nov 08, 2019)
We got this as a kind of joke gift at our baby shower, and it's actually AWESOME! It's great to transition from the infant tub before baby can sit up well in the big tub. Our little guy loves it!!

It was nice to not have to fill up the whole tub! It is rather bulky though and the water seemed to get cold faster then when we just filled up the tub. I liked this product but wasn't in love.

My kids LOVED THIS and would play with it outside of the tub too! Leave it blown up in their room with toys in it for tons of cushy playtime fun, then just toss in the tub or yard for watery fun!

This was awesome for the period of time when my daughter had outgrown her infant tub, but was still pretty little for the bathtub. She loved it and so did I! Great for water conservation, too!

My son loves bath time thanks to this. It gives him enough room and support to have fun in the tub. The only thing we miss is the older version had a duck sound, the newer ones done.He misses that

When I got this as a gift, I thought it was lame - but it turned out to be great! Easy to fill and empty, it nicely cushions the baby and allows her to lean back while sitting fully in the water.

Just got back from a trip and used this at our Airbnb that had no tub. Worked great! Can't really fill up with too much water though. Would be awesome for the beach and hilarious as a pool float.

Bought this tub to transition out of the plastic one. Love it! Easy to travel with too. However, it has a hole something and leaks between fillings. I would buy again though! My baby loves it.

When our little one first started in the tub we used this so it didn't all seem so overwhelming to her. As soon as she was able to sit in the tub, we used this in our living room as a ball pit.

Absolutely love this bath tub. It is the perfect step between an infant tub and a regular bath tub. My 13 month old loves it. I like that it hangs on the wall to dry and that you can deflate it

We got this once our son outgrew the mesh sling for the tub but before he was big enough to use the entire tub. Fits great in both of our tubs and allows just enough room to still be able to play.

Great tub. Nice to have a buffer between baby & my cast iron tub. Used it daily and kept it inflated. If you're short on space this isn't a good choice unless you're using occasionally or for travel.

it might work. I imagine it would tip easily if you plan to let it float, but if your babe is small enough to be in it youll probably be staying close by and holding it anyway. id also be careful using it in the sand because of course its inflatable so it may pop. if you put it on a blanket and put some sea water in it, itd probably be a fun way for baby to experience the salt water.
I would suggest being a little wary of this, only because I have this horrible vision of the thing tipping over with baby inside in to the water. Without the leg holes that traditional baby floaties have, you don't have quite as much balance. But I agree, using it on the beach itself and not in the water sounds fun, just watch out of poppable things! :-)
I wouldn't use it beyond manufacturer's intended use. That's how recalls get started. I am sure among the gobillion other baby products out there, there is one meant to be used as a beach floatie that is safer.
