Maxi Cosi makes pretty car seats… in the words of weeSpring parents, they’re sleek and stylish, and definitely the ones you’ll gravitate toward in the store if you’re trying to avoid baby-stuff-overload. Downside: we’ve heard installation can be more than tricky… it won’t install securely (with or without the base) in the majority of cars. With a 5 pound start and 22 pound limit, it also doesn’t fit preemies or older infants. Our friends at The Car Seat Lady suggest the Cybex Aton 2 as an alternative.

This carrier is so light and easy to carry. My only issue was that the tightening pull is right up against the seat (if baby is clicked into the base) and make it hard to tighten. Otherwise LOVE it. May 23, 2019

The seat fails to yield a secure installation in the majority of cars - with or without the base (Maxi Cosi removed the European belt path on the carrier and doesn't offer a seat belt locking device on the base). It’s limited weight range (5 lbs to 22 lbs) means it isn’t great for preemies or big babies - and the straps get uneven and twist more than we see in other seats. Don't be confused - this seat is not micro... it takes up as much room in the car as seats that fit much bigger babies. Apr 16, 2014
