what parents are saying
It isn't bulky. I feel safe using this with my little one. It seems comfortable and will allow my child to grow with it for a while yet. The base is also super easy to clip in and out of the vehicle. (Aug 26, 2015)
This is the most popular infant car seat around. It’s very easy to install and clicks securely into the base with no fuss. Consumer Reports also rated it the best for crash protection, which is, bottom line, what we are all looking for in a car seat. It fits easily in a variety of cars and with the Keyfit Caddy stroller, it makes an excellent and very easy travel system--great for spontaneous walks around town without disturbing a sleeping baby.
The Catch: Might not be the best for city parents who rely on taxis and public transportation as it can be difficult to get a secure fit without the base.
Great seat! So easy to get in and out of the car. I've used this seat with both kids. It's easy to clean and isn't overly heavy. Wish it was slightly more attractive, but gets the job done well.

The Keyfit 30 is the only infant car seat I have ever purchased. The only complaint I have about the Keyfit is its weight, but that’s one of the car seat’s safety features. I can live with this.

Used this style for a couple months with my first son and I wasn't a fan. I didn't like how difficult it was to get him out of the seat. Good seat, not a good fit for me. Very heavy not easy to carry.

It works, but it doesn't feel as sturdy to me as the Britax one we used with my son. Only reason we moved to this one was that it adapted to our Uppababy Vista. Also, the 'canopy' doesn't stay up.

This carseat is so well made, the inside fabric is really easy to clean and the carseat clicks in and out of the base with minimal effort! It also clicks in and out of the chicco stroller very easily!

So easy to install! The carrier is light and easy to take in and out of the base. Infant insert is removable and carseat fabric is easy to remove and wash. Canopy is difficult to slide open and closed

This carseat gets great ratings and is very safe, however our little one gets pretty hot in this seat and sweats a lot. It is also heavy compared to other infant seats and bulky in our backseat.

Not too heavy, highest safety rating by Consumer Reports, comes in attractive finishes and fabrics. Easy to take fabric cover off for cleaning and completely machine washable. Easy car installation.

I chose this carseat because of the high safety ratings. What I love about it is how easy it is to snap and go into the base as well as the caddy stroller that goes with it. Baby is comfortable too!

Very safe and secure. This car seat is stylish and I love the grip handle. The infant insert is included and supports babies head. The carseat has a built in level so I know I am installing correctly.

We have used several brands of car seats (from Graco to Britax) and Chicco is the best. One of the most consistently safe brands, easy to install and nice looking. Well worth the higher price point.

All carseats have the same safety requirements. The best answer is to choose the carseat that is easiest for you to install correctly. This will depend on your car. This carseat in particular is a great seat, but also can be very heavy. If you want to remove it a lot, it might become cumbersome.
