what parents are saying
This diaper genie is going strong on our second kid. Diaper genie can be right next to you and you can't smell anything. Definitely worth paying for. (Dec 26, 2016)
The quintessential diaper pail, the Diaper Genie is tried and true. It has a foot pedal for hands-free diaper disposal and it’s small it doesn’t take up too much space in the nursery. It also keeps in the smell really well--one mom even admitted she accidently left diapers in it for “way too long” and never smelled a thing.
The Catch: It requires specific liner refills, which are costly.

Great on keeping the smell in and easy to empty. The liners are a little expensive but you get what you pay for! My only complaint is that I do wish it was bigger so it could hold more diapers.

I thought I was going to love this product and as much as I did, I did not. I walked into LO's room and it did nothing with containing the smell. I've seen other pails so wish me luck in finding one.

This is such a great idea but, internal space is limited. You're spending money on non-eco friendly refill bags, and with breastfeeding I was emptying twice a day.Would like something more eco-friendly

I still smell the diapers each time I open the lid. I guess it's better than a trash can, but I feel I have to empty it all the time. I suppose that helps to cut down the smell, but I'm not impressed.

This was great up until we didn't use the changing table...once our baby started to roll we used the floor and just tossed them into the trash...kind of pointless after the first 5 months.

It definitely works because I never knew what dirty diapers even smelled like until we traveled and had to use a normal trash can. But it's very thin plastic and moves around whenever we step on it.

Have 2 of these, one for the nursery and one for downstairs. I actually just use regular trash bags anchored by one of the rings from the bags that you are supposed to buy for it. Works well !

This is great when you have bag inserts on hand. I would use it and then forget to buy new bags so it would sit unused, to no fault of the product. received as a gift would not have bought myself.

I used it for a short period of time. Honestly, save your money. A cheap trash can with a lid will do fine. Add arm and hammer diaper pail pods to help with any smell, which you will have regardless
