Initially before I had my daughter I was expecting to be able to breastfeed, that wasn't in our cards and unfortunately I hadn't purchased or asked for bottle starter sets. I would definitely recommend this product for a gift for an expecting mother for her shower or as an item to put on a registry. I really do love bottles that have less pieces and parts to clean and these only have three pieces. I didn't initially realize that the three 4 ounce bottles had size 0 nipples on them and my daughter seemed to pull hard enough on them to leak but now that I've switched to the size 1's we don't have that issue. I did not have any issues getting my daughter to take this bottle; however, I have yet to have her refuse one and this is her third brand. I do wish that there weren't an odd number of bottles in the set - it's essentially both a pro and a con. The nipple replacements for these come in packs of two, so you would essentially have just enough or one extra. She was already currently using the Philips Avent pacifiers so they were not an issue either. I have been a little hesitant to pack these in our diaper bag to take with us places as they are glass, they don't feel fragile by any means it's only that they are indeed glass. Glass replacements and the set in general is more expensive than it's plastic equivalents. I did try the protective sleeve but since we don't warm our formula in the bottle itself I've only used it a few times but it is really nice if you do warm formula/breastmilk in a warmer or if your baby takes a while to eat it might keep the milk warmer longer.
