what parents are saying
Loved this for our baby with a tongue tie. Worked great to teach him how to suck effectively so he could go on to breastfeed. Our daughter would gag every time we tried to use it. (Feb 09, 2018)

We have tried the Calma nipple with all 3 babies, and it just dumps milk all over them. We followed the directions, and it just never worked for us. Jan 26, 2021

Didn’t work for us. LO hated it and would gag/choke with the nipple. I used the bottles for pumping and storing breast milk though. Nov 07, 2020

This bottle seemed like a good solution for the breastfed baby but it really didn’t work that well for us. Sep 16, 2020

Initially worked well for our baby but after 10 weeks, baby would refuse to drink from this. Just seemed like the nipple made it too hard to suck milk. Feb 01, 2020
I want to love it but im still undecided. It's better than pace feeding. My baby has a strong suction so she still gets too much milk but less gagging than other bottles. its really expensive. Dec 23, 2019

I'm neutral because my son didn't love this bottle. I get the point but I found that with this bottle, I was constantly stopping milk from running out of his mouth. Not recommended. May 01, 2019

Both my son and daughter have a struggle with this bottle. This is one of the medela products I would stay clear of. Sometimes they can barely suck any milk or none at all that they get frustrated. Apr 28, 2019

I was looking for a bottle nipple that would not cause nipple confusion. I was heading back to work but wanted to be able to breast feed when I was home. This worked great and they had no gas problems Apr 04, 2019

I really wanted to love this bottle - in theory it sounds great. Once my son got the hang of it he would gulp milk faster than any other bottle and then projectile spit up 1-2 ounces :-( Nov 07, 2018

I bought this because my LO wouldn’t breastfeed. Although it is slow flow and LO needs to suck to get milk, she found a way around it. If milk splashed into the nipple it goes through- defeats purpose May 18, 2019

It's supposed to be slow-flow but for some (and for our newborn) it had the opposite effect of gushing out, resulting in a sputtering, gagging baby. Expensive too! Mar 18, 2019

I wanted to love this bottle. My baby will drink out of ANY bottle, and would not use this. It is way too difficult to suck from and the hard nipple does not imitate a natural nipple.. Regret buying. Mar 11, 2019

2nd bottle brand I have tried. Perfect for breastfeeding babies. Does not cause nipple confusion as nipple vacuum allows baby to suck only a small amount as during nursing. Worth the price. Oct 03, 2018

Too many components! Concept sounds great, but extremely hard for baby to grasp. Cleanup is quite the process and at the price point, is not affordable to have multiple nipples on hand. Aug 09, 2017

We bought this at the beginning when I was having to pump for a couple of days. She never got the hang of this, so it was a waste of money. It's a good idea though. Just wish it had worked out for us. Jul 26, 2017

I loved this because it was the only slow nipple that resembled nursing baby has to work for the milk and won't get lazy does have a few parts but worth it to fully breastfeed with lil bottle time Jun 29, 2017
