From fluorescent colored toys to blinking, music-blasting bouncy seats, most things you buy for your baby aren't exactly subtle. But believe it or not, even big babyproofing gear can actually blend in.
The Lascal KiddyGuard Avant Gate has a sleek, modern look compared to the "baby jail" vibe most gates give off. It's retractable (you can do it one-handed!), which makes for easy trips up and down the stairs with a baby in tow. And after bedtime, when you're having a fabulous dinner party (or more likely, having a fabulous snooze on the couch), the gate rolls neatly into the aluminum side casing so it's barely noticeable when not in use. This sturdy space saver is a must-have for doorways that can't bear the brunt of a hefty, swinging gate.
Babyproofing impacts your home from top to bottom (and so does the baby that its set up for!). But at least one contraption knows how to go incognito...

It is very sturdy and works great. When it's retracted you hardly even notice it's there. We have a tiny house, and this is a great space saver. May 30, 2013
