  • Q: I understand middle-of-the-night leaks are common. Would I need to clean the mattress itself in the middle of the night + wait 2-6 hours for it to dry (or spend money on a duplicate mattress), or does the mattress cover catch most leaks? Do leaks reach below the crib? What do owners end up doing?

  • You can definitely put a waterproof cover on it, but that'll limit its breathability. When we've had middle-of-the-night issues (vomiting baby, etc.) we just put her in the travel crib for the rest of the night. We only rarely have needed to do that though.

  • Most parents are finding that event the biggest leaks and messes are not going through to the core. We have made the cover water resistant, easy to remove, and completely machine washable. We also sell additional covers, so that you can simply change the cover in much the same way that you would a sheet, and have your little one sleeping soundly in no time.

  • Newton crib mattress is firm enough for your baby's health and growth, with the comfort that they want. Newton has passed all firmness requirements for ASTM standards, while displaying comfort and superior breathability benefits.

    a.) The Colgate Eco Classica III is a foam core mattress that has a rayon and plastic waterproof coating. Foam normally is a heat conductor, and does not allow for great air flow or circulation, and the water proof covering makes the product completely air tight. The Newton Crib mattress you can literally breathe through. Specifically designed to allow air flow through the mattress to avoid sweaty backs and overheating, Newton also allows for superior breathability, giving your child a the perfect temperature for sleeping conditions as well as unsurpassed safety.

    b.) Moonlight Slumber Little Dreamer Dual Firmness is also a foam based mattress that is encased in a water proof barrier. With foam mattresses there is little air flow, and the waterproofing encasement limits any breathability of the mattress. Newton combats sweaty backs and overheating by allowing maximum air flow through the mattress.
