Sometimes, you just can't beat Ikea: at just $20 ($30 with the infant cushion), this highchair is lightweight, easy to clean, and compact. More than one weeSpring mom confessed that they traded in their $300 high chairs for this one. You can literally hose it down to clean it; one mom said, "After a night of spaghetti, throw this in the shower and call it a day."

The Catch: the tray can be tough to remove.

  • Q: If we add the pad will my large (almost 16 lbs) 4 month be able to use this chair?

    asked by Libby G. - Nov 17, 2014

  • The pad is cheap enough you should get it and remove it if they seem squished. I think its $5? Once my LO outgrew it we washed the pad and she sits on it in her room! Its easy to take out.

  • i would not recommend this chair if your baby cannot sit up fully on their own. but once they are sitting up i think it would be fine to add a pad.

  • Absolutely! The pad is very affordable as another parent has mentioned so trying it should be easy and it is also very adjustable. Because you blow it up yourself you can make it thinner or thicker depending on how much support your little one needs.

  • Pad worked great for us from about that age. We took it out when he was about 10 months old.

  • I used some blankets for extra padding starting around then and it's only gotten better as he's able to sit up on his own. Highly recommended!

  • Initially I thought I shouldn't have gotten the pad, because it seemed like a tight fit. But as my daughter grew up and lost her baby chub, I'm actually thrilled I still have it. As a toddler, if I put her in with the pad I can be lazy about buckling her in (not advocating it, but my she is pretty good about staying put and I don't leave the room). Without the pad she's less comfy and contained.

  • Q: Is there a trick to removing the tray from this highchair? It's supposedly removable, but seems completely stuck.

asked by Secretly Expecting - Mar 23, 2014

  • There are 2 clips just over the leg holes that you need to release.
