what parents are saying
Great as a bassinet or as a place for babe to hang out in the living room with the family. Big brothers love to help rock him and talk to him while baby bro is in it. Highly recommend! (Dec 06, 2016)
As you'll see by how many parents have rated it, the Fisher-Price Rock n Play is pretty much a household staple (and at a price-point that makes it a no-brainer). It folds flat for storage and travel, and parents port it room-to-room, with one mom calling it her "second set of hands." And it is a life-saver for babies with reflux -- or any baby who doesn't like lying flat.

I have had mine for my second and third daughter and it is such a lifesaver! Both babies have loved it. My third child is still currently using it on a daily basis. Folds up easily to travel.

Had the auto version which rocked itself. Worked well for naps during the day but was a bit noisy (baby didn't mind). Would make a great gift or to have on hand at the grandparent's house.

This is great for my reflux prone baby and is a perfect place to put her for 10-15min with a toy. She has napped really well in it due to the way it holds her in like a hammock. But it creaks!

This isn't the best and worst invention for babies EVER!!! I loved it because for the first two months we actually got sleep. I hated it because eventually we had to transition him out of it!!!

I have two rock and play, one in the kitchen and one in the bathroom. Very handy, great for small babies! My baby use to sleep in it a lot, now she's almost 6 and stays in it max 30 min when I'm busy

Lifesaver! We didn't have this with my son, but bought one when expecting my daughter, and I wish we would have had it for both! She loved being rocked in this, and nap time usually happened here!

Biggest lifesaver ever! This is the only thing my baby would sleep in for the first 3 months of her life! She didn't like to lay flat. This gave her the perfect angle to be comfortable to sleep!

I absolutely love my rock n play and so does my daughter! It sits at the same level as my bed so its perfect for late night feedings when I'm too tired to get up and walk across the room to her crib.

I love the rock n player sleeper. My son has been sleeping it in since he has been sick. Helps keep him elevated ans from choking. Its also very convenient to put him in while I shower and do house wo

I loved this rock and play. Very portable! I could take it upstairs and down with no hassle! I do wish you could adjust the incline as my little one would slide to the bottom once in awhile

Once our child outgrew the co-sleeper we moved her to this beside the bed. The underside is mesh so we can control temperature easily. When she stirs it rocks a little and helps her back to sleep.

A life saver. Lets face it...kids aren't always happy in their crib. Two of my three daughters lived in this thing. My third daughter preferred her bassinet and then her crib (flatter surface)

I love this, after failed usage of a bassinet with our first baby, we got this with our second. I highly recommend. It's a must have. Definitely go for the auto rock portion. You will get sleep!

This is great to have in your living room or wherever else when baby needs to sleep and you need to get stuff done! Very portable and I felt my baby slept well in it because she felt cuddled

I would suggest only using this for 2-3 months max. We didn't put our son into his crib until he was 7 months (poor choice on our end) and he had become so dependent on us being there to help him with things that it really contributed to his sleep patterns. I will say that this was amazing though and a huge huge help for any mom/dad! Good luck!
No issues for us either. It was a better sleeping choice for our daughter for awhile due to reflux issues but we set it up in her room with the camera at night so she wouldn't get accustomed to being in our room.
First off, remember that every baby is different! We started putting my daughter down for naps in her crib around 3.5 months, though she still slept in the Rock n Play at night until 4 months. We didn't have any transition problems whatsoever! We did have her do a fair amount of tummy time in the crib though, so she could get "used" to it before we started having her sleep in there.
Sorry, my comment was cut short & I can't figure out how to edit! With our 1st, my daughter had no issues transitioning to the crib from the rock n play. However, with our 2nd, my son struggled w/the transition. He also had a harder time learning to sleep through the night. So those two issues went hand in hand. We used advice found online & he's sleeping in his crib and through the night.
Our daughter was in it at night for 5 months. To help transition her to her crib we would put her in there during the day for naps. Once she was good with sleeping there for longer proofs we put her in her crib. Our son is almost 4 months and we have started the transition for him now. Good luck!!
I asked our pediatrician that question after my daughter had been sleeping in it for a few months. She said it's incredibly rare for something like that to happen. No matter what your baby sleeps on, there is always a slight risk for flat spots, but you can help prevent it by making sure your baby doesn't sleep on the same side of their head all the time (just turn it gently once they're asleep).
My opinion is it could, yes, but the same risk as leaving the baby lying in the same position too long in any bassinet, swing, crib, etc. And i think the current ones have more padding to help prevent it. Hope this helps!
Limit the time in the rocker and you should be ok. My baby would be ok. My baby would be in the rocker for a long stretch but he never had a flat head. But i would certainly not recommend whole night sleep in the rock and play.
Hi! Love love this product - my daughter is almost 8 months old and has had no issue with flat head! She spends a lot of time in it too! Never slept in it for long periods of time, but definitely an hour or two here and there during the day.
Yes!! This is my go-to gift for new parents, and I had two of them, and they were the most important things to get me through 0-6 months! They are perfect for feeding, sleeping, and anything you could imagine early on, and the incline is great for any babies with reflux. Almost no product I'd recommend more highly!
