Honestly, any scooter bike is amazing. Our kids went from this to riding a bike without training wheels in a day. I do not understand why these aren't more popular in the US. (Oct 04, 2013)

Q: I'm thinking about getting this for my daughter for her 3rd birthday but she's pretty cautious and has never ridden a tricycle. Should I start with a tricycle or do you think kids are ok going right to a balance bike?

I would start out with the balance bike. It teaches them how to hold themselves and steer a bike before pedaling, and is a great confidence booster!
