what parents are saying
Love love love my electronic Medela breast pumps. Even better is that the ACA now requires insurance carriers to cover the cost of breast pumps and their accessories. (Jan 20, 2016)
This is far-and-away the favorite among weeSpring moms. It's a workhorse: reliable, easy-to-use, and effective. Or as one mom put it, "This is the Volvo station wagon of breast pumps; it may be a bit big and heavy, but it always works when you need it." It comes built into its own bag, with space for all the requisite pump parts and a little cooler to keep milk fresh. Be sure to call your insurance company--it might be free!
The Catch: It is large, which can make commuting and/or traveling with it cumbersome.
I absolutely love my medela pump. They offer several flange size options. I actually have to use two different sizes. It has great suction and double pumping. Everything travels great all in one bag.

I have used with both my kids, and I nursed for nearly 2 years with my first. Best pump that is not hospital grade. Save money and skip the bag and treat yourself to a Sarah Wells pump bag instead.

I bought this product 4 hours ago And I LOVE IT. I own a lot of breast pumps and this is my favorite. It's suction, tote, and gentleness is what makes it the best. I exclusively breast pump.

I exclusively pumped for 10 months with my first with this pump and I'm doing so again with my second kiddo. Pump parts are easy to clean and, if I need replacement parts, I can find them at Target.

Go to breast pump. Has enough power to keep supply up yet comfortable. Can use a battery pack to make portable (though you loose a bit of power). Parts are easily found and decent price. Holds up!

It is frustrating using the battery pack and comber some with lots of cords. I wish it came with the bra to be able to use hands free. I found the spectra portable pump to be more effective.

I have two of these, one for upstairs and one for down. I exclusively pump and have not had any complaints. It lasted through 7 months of pumping with my first and I am on month 4 with #2.

I work at a hospital and used the hospital grade pump but the PISA expressed more milk, even though it is louder. Easy to use and I liked the cooler bag. My milk stayed cold for over 10 hours.

I didn't love or hate this pump; it was just ok. It started out working well, but as I used it more, I seemed to get less milk when pumping. I switched to a different pump for my next little one.

It is but if you're going to be exclusively pumping, I'd look into the smaller one that is more portable. I forget the style but I remembered thinking it might have been nice to not be limited to a wall outlet. Not sure if you compromise power. This one will do the trick though!
I had to pump for the first four months (my son was a premie and had to be on a combo of breastmilk and formula until he was 4 months old) and then I pumped at work until he was a year. I used this pump at work but didn't like it nearly as much as the hospital grade one that I rented. It's powerful enough but the hospital grade ones are even stronger. I also had some supply issues though.
