what parents are saying
Works great, covered by insurance, no complaints. (Mar 08, 2017)
This is far-and-away the favorite among weeSpring moms. It's a workhorse: reliable, easy-to-use, and effective. Or as one mom put it, "This is the Volvo station wagon of breast pumps; it may be a bit big and heavy, but it always works when you need it." It comes built into its own bag, with space for all the requisite pump parts and a little cooler to keep milk fresh. Be sure to call your insurance company--it might be free!
The Catch: It is large, which can make commuting and/or traveling with it cumbersome.
I didn't love or hate this pump; it was just ok. It started out working well, but as I used it more, I seemed to get less milk when pumping. I switched to a different pump for my next little one.

I loved this about as much as you can love any breast pump. I actually had the tote bag style that I kept at work and the smaller version (not part of a bag) for home and travel, which I preferred.

After having 7children I've been through some pumps in my time. This one has exceeded them all! Easy to use and clean. It's a bag too! I carry all my pumping and breast care needs inside for conveniec

I used this pump for a year with my daughter. It worked well. Was very portable and easy to use. Only downfall was motor seemed wore out after using for a year and had to get another after having my son

Great pump! I used it several times a day for 9 months. Small and compact for travel. We loved the bottles too. Great to just put a nipple on & use! Make sure to replace the tubing every other month

Purchased this pump for my breastfeeding endeavors and I'm very much impressed as before with Medela, continuous improvement! Love the stages of pumping it provides for an easy and quick pump session!

I do not like this product as much as I had wanted. I found that one of the plugs doesn't pull as much as the other. I had it for two days and noticed. Even the one at the hospital did the same thing.

This pump comes with everything you need to get started comfortably. It is rather noisy but most pumps are. Easy to assemble as well as parts are easy to clean. Love this pump will be using again.

I will never use another brand pump. I have loved my pump in style for my last two kids and will use it again for baby #3. only complaint I have it I wish the pump parts itself were easier to clean.

I have pumped with all 3 kids. This pump has great suction, easy to carry/store milk, & is discrete. With this pump alone, I was able to nurse all my kids into toddlerhood and donate gallons of milk.

I have used the medela pump in style for both of my girls. Works well for me and I usually get enough milk for what need within 10-20 minutes. I have had issues with the flanges breaking though.

It's the most used and thus most compatible with everything, including Dr. Brown's. But I've heard another brand that has a softer suction and quieter function. I use it daily to keep up my supply.

I loved this breast pump. It made pumping as comfortable as it could be with the task at hand. I like that there are different flows and different cup sizes. It was easy to travel with also.

It is but if you're going to be exclusively pumping, I'd look into the smaller one that is more portable. I forget the style but I remembered thinking it might have been nice to not be limited to a wall outlet. Not sure if you compromise power. This one will do the trick though!
I had to pump for the first four months (my son was a premie and had to be on a combo of breastmilk and formula until he was 4 months old) and then I pumped at work until he was a year. I used this pump at work but didn't like it nearly as much as the hospital grade one that I rented. It's powerful enough but the hospital grade ones are even stronger. I also had some supply issues though.
